Twitter As Public Opinion

I forgot to post my famous tweet during one of the Republican presidential debates. I forget which debate exactly, since there were so many of them. I took video of the event. My tweet appears at the bottom of the screen at about :30-:34 seconds in. Look for @janetnews scroll by! They kept scrolling my comment during the rebroadcast of the debate that night and during the commentary. I was pleased.

This is why I love Twitter! When would I have ever had the opportunity to express my opinion like this directly to a debate? I can even tweet the campaigns directly. Twitter is a fabulous tool for campaigns that I will be talking more about in the coming weeks.

I am a professor, pretend political pundit, media critic, and the author of the upcoming book: Political Rhetoric, Social Media, and American Presidential Campaigns: Candidates' Use of New Media. (December 2020 Lexington Books) Critiquing and monitoring social media/media in the political process is what I do. I live for American Presidential Campaigns.
